Champions League Match Report: Manchester City vs Bayern Munich – Part 2
The second half kicked off a little slower than most would have expected, but City managed to get their head in the game once again, as they continued to put the pressure on the German side.
In the 52nd minute of the game, City went on to score a very decisive second goal in the game, which saw them cruise ahead of Munich. Dzeko went on to provide an incisive through ball towards Toure, who raced onto the ball and slipped in a brilliant
low finish into the back of the net.
In the 64th minute, City’s happiness was cut short as news broke in that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 had taken the lead over Villarreal. The goal proved to come at a very bad time for City, as the fans seemed to have had the life sucked out of them.
In the 75th minute, there was more bad news for City, as Hamsik went on to score a second goal against the Spanish side.
At this point, City were well aware of the fact that they were out of the competition and were just carrying on with the game to give their egos some form of comfort.
In the 82nd minute, Aguero got forward once again and caused havoc for the Munich fans. He went on to dance around before taking a shot at goal. However, Butt went on to make a fine save with his legs once again and in doing so kept the Argentine
forward at bay once again.
Soon after, the game came to an end with City beating Munich by two goals to nil. However, despite the team’s best efforts, they just couldn’t ensure their way into the next round of the tournament, mainly due to the fact that they had produced a number
of poor results prior to the game against Munich.
Following the results of the games that took place, both Munich and Napoli qualified for the next round of the tournament, while City were forced into the Europa League.
However, it is now safe to say that City are amongst the favourites to win the Europa League this time around.
