Champions League Match Report: Valencia vs Chelsea – Part 2
Following the half time break, both the teams stepped back onto the field, only neither side looked to attack the other right away. Both the sides seemed to be looking to settle in, before they went on and looked for that cutting edge in front of the goal.
In the 52nd minute, almost everyone had thought that Chelsea were going to go one nil up. Bosingwa whipped in a brilliant cross, which was met by the head of Torres. The striker guided his header low into the goal, but managed to pull out one
of the best saves the tournament has seen by Diego Alves.
In the 54th minute, Lampard played on Ramires with a brilliant through ball. However, despite having scored a brace this past weekend, the midfielder managed to hit the keeper straight in the chest with his shot and another chance went begging
for the Blues.
In the 57th minute, Bosingwa once again made himself useful, as he darted forward and crossed in a low ball towards the far post. Lampard met the cross and side footed a low shot into the goal to give Chelsea the lead in the game.
Just when it looked like Chelsea would go on and win the game, Kalou handled the ball in his own area and conceded a penalty while seeing a yellow card in the 86th minute.
Soldado stepped up to take the spot kick and sent Cech the wrong way, as his effort sailed low into the bottom right corner of the goal.
Following that goal from Soldado, neither side managed to come near scoring a goal and the match ended with both sides cancelling each other out at one goal a piece.
