Champions League Qualifying Play-off Round – Sevilla vs. Braga
Sevilla are looking forward to get themselves in the best tournament of European club football, the UEFA Champions League. It is the Portuguese team Braga who won the first leg 1-0 at their home as Sevilla went to Portugal to face the Portuguese side for a spot in the Champions League.
Braga are now at a 1-0 advantage as they arrive at Spain to battle Sevilla at their home.
Sevilla needs to win the match with a two-goal margin in order to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, but Braga are definitely going to play it defensive to put pressure on the Spanish side so that they don’t put in many attacks, as Kanoute and the Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano are big forces that can easily change the course of the game and can easily win it for the team.
Talking about the formation of the two teams, Braga are definitely going to try and play it safe and are probably going to play a strong defensive line-up with 5 defenders. The formation is probably going to be 5-3-1, as the first choice goalkeeper Felipe is going to take his place between the two poles. He is going to be assisted with five tough defenders as the right-back Leonardo Salino and the left-back Uwa Elderson are definitely going to play in the first team. Moises and Silvio are going to feature as centre-backs and the number 2 Alberto Junior Rodriguez is also going to feature as a centre-back, making it five defenders to guard the single goal that they have scored at their home.
Right ahead of them, there is going to be a centre midfielder to assist the forwards and the defenders at the same time. That person is definitely going to be their main man, Vandinho. Rather than setting up two wingers on the left and the right side, Braga are going to use the options of a right midfielder and left midfielder. Alan is going to be assisting his team at the right flank with the goal scorer Luis Aguiar on the left flank. The two strikers Matheus and Paulo Cesar are going to take their positions up front and are going to try to penetrate through the defensive lines of Sevilla so that they can take an away goal advantage as well.
On the other hand, Sevilla are definitely going to set their eyes on as many goals as they can score. The Spaniards have been resting even though they had an away match against Barcelona at the Nou Camp, and that day it was the Catalan Giants who emerged victorious and took the Super Cup home. Sevilla are definitely going to put in their best because it is for the spot in the Champions League and Braga are the ones leading at the moment. Therefore, Sevilla needs to go the extra mile to emerge victorious. Sevilla are going to play their typical 4-4-2 with their number 1 Andres Palop in the goal. The four defenders, Konko, Fazio, Dabo and Escude are going to feature in the match as Arsenal already took Sebastian away from them. The right winger Jesus Navas is definitely going to play; it is because of his pace that Sevilla usually comes back from behind to win the game; just like the home leg of the Super Cup as they faced Barcelona and came back from a 0-1 loss to a 3-1 victory. Didier Zokora and Luca Cigarini in the middle are going to play as centres, and they are going to help out Luis Fabiano and Kanoute upfront so that they can score goals for the Spanish side to get their spot in the UEFA Champions League. At left wing there is going to be Diego Perotti, who has impressed in his recent matches and is definitely going to feature for the Sevillian team.
