I was really looking forward to this mini WC...but the amount of controversies the tournament was surrounded with, it is better that it has been postponed. There would have been no real fun with the top teams backing out and also re-locating would have been injustice to Pakistan.

So better late than never!!!

This is really not good news.The Aussies,Proteas,Kiwis and the English Must Play in Pak.Without these four teams it would really boring having bangladesh,ireland,bemuda,usa,holland etc instead of them..........

Should have been done long ago or moved to another country, ICC as usual bowed to BCCI & you can blame them that it is cancelled.I hope they have the sense to find a more suitable venue in 2009.

perhaps this is the only choice left out with ICC, as most of the teams will boycott the tournament and there is no point calling it "champions trophy", if it is held ! There are some good international venues, like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Toronto, Amstelveen, Nairobi, Hong Kong, Kualalumpur etc. where people take loads of interest in cricket and thse places have a cosmopolitan culture and people of all countries ! ICC should develop these venues to host these kind of tournaments , as this will not only boost the cricket in these countries but all the teams also will participate ! i was thinking of another Q asked by Oracle for test cricket venues, may be a tournament like this can hit success at these venues!
