Champlain, NY - job, room, moving help!?

Ok so i've always wanted to live near Montreal since i love visiting there as much as i can.

On a recent bus trip, i noticed Champlain, NY was the last town before getting to the border.

So i am considering throwing my stuff in the car, quitting my job and moving to Champlain.

Please help me with the following if you know about Champlain.

1) How easy would it be for me to find a job in Champlain ? Are there many fast food rest., retail stores or businesses where i can apply and get hired soon ?

2) How easy is it to find roommates or a basement in that town to rent ?

3) Is Champlain a nice town to live and work in ?

Jobs and finding something to rent are going to be pretty difficult. Consider St Albans, VT....which is just north of Burlington....where there are jobs and places to live will be easier to find. St Albans is around 50 miles from Montreal, Champlain is 35. Good luck!
