  1. Well if you want massive inflation that threatens everyone's security and lifestyle, go ahead and keep claiming.

  2. These comments display how little economic understanding Darling has. (and Brown)

In previous times of inflation it has been driven by demand.  This demand has been fuelled by pay increases.  So it that situation it would make sense to say reduce pay rises and reduce demand.

However the current inflation is created by the price of raw materials, fuel and basic food stuff.  Pay demands and interest rates have little bearing on this.

Reducing pay capacity considerably will just lead to a complete stagnation of the economy as all demand drys up and goods become priced out of any bodies reach.

I regret that goods will include fuel and food.  England will become blighted by poverty the likes of which we have not seen since the middle ages.

In the mean time i just bought a toaster for £3.99!!

  4. the man is a complete joke, out of touch, ridiculous fool. Perhaps they hope we will forget when the election comes around.

  5. Come the revolution he'll be up against the wall, along with the other miscreants that make up the labour party.

  6. Alastair Darling..? Fxck him...

  7. Well he would wouldn't he!!!!!!  Hope everyone remembers this at election time, especially those voters in his constituency.

We are supposed to forget the pay increase that politicians have given themselves.  But we won't, will we?

And also the fact  recently demonstrated that they pay for very little themselves too!!!!!!

He has more nerve than brains.  Either that or he doesn't give a d**n.

    Probably both!!!!!!

  8. Yes, and this is the honest, competant  man who refused an above inflation pay rise along with his fellow robbers a few weeks ago !....................................In a pigs eye the did. Do as we say, not as we do springs to mind !

  9. A case of "do as I say not do as I do"!

  10. the cheek of it, we deserve a pay rise mps just award themselves rises whenever they want. W*****S..

  11. Same story with politicians all over the world. Who was stupid enough to give them the power to vote for their own wage rises? It would seem we were.

Let's pay them on a bonus basis. They get 10% (still more than most of us) and if they do a decent job we can vote to give them more.

  12. A general strike should settle the issue.Forget the insulting 2% we want 15% now or else, its up to you Darling. We are ready are you??
