Chances Buffalo will bring Orpik home?

Question

With rumor that he won't stay in Pittsburgh as long as Therrien's around, any chance Buffalo can add a third local boy to its roster (and some grit at D) with Orpik?

They need more than Orpik at this point.  I think Redden would be a great pick up for the Sabres he's a step down from Campbell, but he's still good and he's the best UFA defenseman besides Campbell.

Sadly I don't think so. Buffalo sadly won't fork over dough. Plus I heasrd the Rangers are very intrested and they have the resources to bring him in

Orpik would be a nice pickup but he's going to consider all his options and I don't know if the Sabres have the checkbook or roster to make his short list.

Someone wrote here last week that Orpik hates Therrien and can't wait to bolt Pittsburgh. Don't know if it's fact or not, but he would sure help the Sabres.

I hope not. As the Pens were cleaning out their lockers yesterday at the arena, Orpik was quoted as saying that there are players talking about signing for less to get the chance of staying together. They love the atmosphere and the potential of this organization.

After Pittsburgh's success, I don't know if he'd walk if the price were right to stay. I think it would be awesome if Buffalo picked him up, I think they'd seriously consider it. I don't particularly think it was a big deal losing Campbell (don't even get me started on him) as far as the team'sperformance, and I don't buy, for a second, that his offer was made solely to reserve cap space for Miller...if that were the case, the front office is even more retarded than we thought last year, and they won't make a decent offer...which sucks, it would be nice to have another hockey homeboy and some new blood at D.
