Chances of Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League – Part 6

Sneijder was well covered by the Spaniards but he still managed to throw a pass towards Robben which was considered to be the best opportunity to score a goal but Iker Casillas was just too tough for him to cross and the match was won by the Spaniards in
extra time as a pass from Cesc Fabregas found Andres Iniesta, who made no mistake in finishing the ball into the net and won the match for his team as the Dutch team was left stranded.
Sneijder proved to be the main asset for the Dutch side along with Inter Milan and he is still their main asset and proves that he is the best midfielder that they have. Recently Inter Milan played the German side Werder Bremen in the UEFA Champions League
group stage. The team was without two of their main striking forces Diego Milito and Pandev but they still managed to win the game 4-1 against the German opponents.
Sneijder and Samuel Eto’o totally stole the show as it was the Dutch star who provided the Cameroonian striker with three lethal assists and the former Barcelona man made no mistake in finishing the ball into the net and out ran all of the German defensive
walls and he scored a hat trick.
If there is one player who can take all the glory away from Wesley Sneijder at Inter Milan, it is definitely their last year signing Samuel Eto’o. The former Barcelona goal scorer has the power to assist and strike the ball into the net. Eto’o just scored
a hat trick against Werder Bremen and has shown recently that he can easily adapt to the Italian style of play.
While playing for the Spanish giants Barcelona, Eto’o was simply unstoppable and the Cameroonian striker found the net 108 times in only 145 appearances which is definitely a record on its own. His pace is simply unmatchable and with his quick feet he can
easily cut the defenders that are trying to block him and with his great finishing ability he can help the ball go into the net.
The stats simply prove that Samuel Eto’o is currently one of the best strikers in the world. He is also a player who was brought in by the special one, Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese coach decided to swap his goal scoring sensation Zlatan Ibrahimovic for
the Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o. During that time many thought that the deal was fair if they were being swapped with one another. However, Mourinho had other plans in mind; the former Chelsea manager told Barcelona that he expected them to pay for Zlatan
along with Samuel Eto’o.
The deal is still regarded to be totally unfair but the Catalan giants decided to take the risk but definitely paid for it later on. Currently, Zlatan is not a part of Barcelona’s first team and he is playing for the Italian side AC Milan.
Moreover, during the UEFA Champions League semi final, Zlatan and Eto’o were to play against each other as Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan faced the most successful Spanish side of that time, Barcelona. The match was supposed to be a thriller but the Italian
champions totally owned the show and it was Samuel Eto’o team that actually emerged victorious and Mourinho’s defensive tactics came into use.
It is true that Barcelona were at a man’s advantage but Mourinho played the cards perfectly and told his team to defend the goals that they scored during the home leg. Samuel Eto’o was also made to defend and the Cameroonian was actually the one who played
Gerard Pique on side as the Spanish defender scored the only goal of the match and Inter Milan qualified for the final match on goal aggregate.
