One team that has always been a part of the headlines is definitely the Spanish side Real Madrid. They have always attracted football fans by buying the best players in the world. Their history is clear; they are the best team in Europe and there is definitely
no doubt about it.
Real Madrid started off with Royal families in Spain taking over a football club and buying the best players from all around the world. It wasn’t just a club, it was a hub for all the Royals to show their strengths in terms of riches.
When Real Madrid started playing football, the Spanish teams were weak but there was only one team that came up to their standards and it was the side that used to produce players locally and did not buy foreign players to strengthen their team. That side
was definitely Barcelona, who were fighting for the rights of speaking the language “Catalan” as the Catalan club became more than “just a club.” Any person who wanted to be a part of a move that involved Catalans, would definitely support Barcelona. These
two teams are not only rivals in terms of football, but also politically.
Even though Real Madrid has been a bit out of luck for the past few years, no one can forget how they dominated Europe by “winning it all.” Real Madrid has managed to win 9 European titles since they started playing football and no one can forget how they
were the best side in not only Spain but Europe as well. It is true that the local rivals Barcelona were the only side that remained as “the team to beat” but it was usually Real Madrid that emerged victorious.
These two are usually the two teams that fight for the championship as they give it all to win it all. However, Barcelona has only managed to win the European title three times while Real Madrid has won it 9 times, making it three times the number that the
Catalan giants have secured.
This time round, Real Madrid have bought in outstanding players. Last year Real Madrid looked to be a tough side as well, but what lagged was a good manager. Even though last season Real Madrid were strong with players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain,
Karim Benzema and the Brazilian number 10 kaka, the Los Blancos still struggled a lot to find their way into the European title and just like the past 7 years, they did not even manage to qualify for the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.
This wasn’t because they had a “bad team,” this was actually because they were lacking good management. They needed a coach who would help him win matches. Who would be a better coach than the “legendary special one,” Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho, during his career, has accomplished almost everything that came in his path. He helped the “underdogs” Portugal team Porto win the Portuguese League and also the Champions League. Later, he joined Chelsea and helped them win two local titles in
a row, for the first time in their history. Later, after Mourinho left, Chelsea managed to reach the final of the UEFA Champions League. Everyone knows the facts, it was Mourinho’s side that he built in England and they were the ones who managed to reach the
final. Even though they lost the match to the local rivals Manchester United, the match was still a thriller as it went down on penalties.
Later, Mourinho went on to join Inter Milan and managed to win the local title and also helped them win the UEFA Champions League as he helped the club win a treble for the first time in its history. Mourinho is definitely a factor that no one can just forget
about and he is definitely one of the best coaches in the world at the moment.
