I was wondering exactly how possible it is for someone in California to get into a university in Europe, say, like England or Scotland or Ireland, etc.

Do you need better scores?

  1. Well compeition is high for international students here so try to get the best possible grades... Also if you have and interesting hobbies (sports at a good level of palying an instrument).. your application will be considered more seriously. Also do some reaserch on what you want to major in and try to get the best possible grade in that subject

I dont know why you want to go to an English university. I'm the opposite.. trying to find a univeristy in America lol

Good luck with it. I hope you get accepted

  2. The hobbies answer is flat wrong - it's illegal for a university in the UK to take someone for any other reason than their suitability for the academic course they apply for. We don't have football scholarships here.

Of course, evidence that you are an interesting person who will be fun to teach and who takes an interest in the world around them can't be a bad thing...

Depends on the university. You want to go to Oxford or Edinburgh or Dublin, you're going to need Ivy League standard scores because that's the level those universities are at. But there are plenty with less demanding entrance requirements.

  3. I plan on attending Scottish University and no, the sam scores are expected of you, nothing less and nothing more. However, you will have a very hard time getting any scholarships from America or Scotland which could tranfer over. But it is DEFINITELY WORTH IT! Keep trying!

  4. Great chance, they love international students for the extra money they have to pay. The are loads at Oxbridge and St. Andrews.
