Question:

Chances of getting into a Primary Pgce with a degree in IT? Will the relevance of my degree be an issue?

Hey I am currently studying for a degree in IT systems, I am doing very well in the course and changing course is not an option. I do have experience in schools and working with children. My question is therefore directed to whether I will get a place on a Primary PGCE course even though my degree is not hugely relevant to the Primary curriculum? Further more if I were to do a PGCE in middle years (7-14) with a specialism in ICT would i still be able to work in a primary school, teaching all core subjects or rather, be pidgeon holed into only teaching ICT? PS I do intend to work with pupils aged 7-12 if I do work in a Primary school.

Cheers for the help, no one has so far been able to answer this question for me clearly.
