Chances of getting into grand valley

I just applied and I'm a little nervous.

GPA:3.1

ACT:25

8 varsity letters

never took foreign language classes ( is this important?)

  1. I don't think it's extremely hard to get into Grand Valley.  Your grades are decent and your ACT is good so I'd say you will probably get in.  I hope you didn't just apply to get in for this fall though....that could be a problem.

  2. most universities require you have taken at least two years of a foreign language, and most high schools require this of their students as well, so im a little suprised they didnt urge you to do so. i looked on the schools site, and they do say that you need two years of a foreign language; its a basic requirement, so im not sure they can accept you based on that. also, their accepted freshmen class has an average gpa between 3.4 and 3.8, so im afraid you arent considered competitive. your act is average, and their average score is between 22-26, so that might be ok, but the gpa and lack of foreign language may bar you from the school. i would attend whatever school you get into (hopefully you applied for others) this fall, take a foreign language,  improve your grades, and then reapply for grand valley. good luck
