My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years. We have had all of our test's done and everything seems to be fine. I have a period every month right around the same time. But we just cannot conveice. We both have children, so we know that at one point we were ok. Anyway, DR put me on 50mg of clomid that I will start taking this month when I start. I havent seen any stories or heard from anyone it being successful the first time. I am trying not to get my hopes up but I cant help it. Can anyone tell me the chances of it maybe working on the first try??

  1. Everyone is different but from experience, it worked for me my first cycle of Clomid 50mg.  Unfortunately I miscarried at 8wks but it wasn't due to the Clomid.  So yes, it is possible.  I have read lots of stories of success.  Baby dust!

  2. There are chances of it working the first time you take it.  It didn't for me, but that's not saying anything.  Also, please be warned that the Clomid can give you exaggerated PMS symptoms that can feel like pregnancy symptoms.  All I have to say with my experience with Clomid is don't get your hopes up.  I could've swore I was pregnant, but nope!  I hope things go differently for you and you and your hubby get a positive the first time around!

  3. Yes there is a chance because you're stimulating more follicles to mature than you normally would do. So yes, you're probably increasing your chances even on the first month.

But remember that Clomid delays ovulation, normally by about 4 days. That means you also have to hold off testing because your AF due date will be a few days later than normal.
