Chanel Eyeglasses?

Question

So I am still in doubt as to which to purchase, one from ebay that told me the serial number is 3083 B c501 52[]16 135 or the one this lady purchased from an estate sale, serial number 3083-8 c501 54016 1535. She told me she took them to Lenscrafter and they told her they were authentic but the numbers seem weird to me. What do you think? How can I tell based on the serial numbers if they are real chanel or fake chanel eyeglasses? Experts only PLEASE!!!!!

That isn't a serial number.

3083B would be the model #

c501 is the color code #

52-16 is the size...the other one at 54-16 is a size larger..54 mm is the width of each lens, and 16mm is the bridge size.

The 135 is the length of the temples ( arms) in mm...I think she misread the 135, and sees another 5 there...probably just a typo...it can't really be there.

It is the same frame and color, but 1 size larger...54mm lens width vs 52 mm on the other one.

Also, the company that makes Chanel frames owns Lenscrafters.  They are Luxottica from Italy.  They also make Persol, Miu Miu, Prada, Brooks Brothers, RayBan.
