Chanelle Scheepers weds Roger Anderson – Tennis News
South African number one player, Chanelle Scheepers, tied a knot on November 10, 2012. On Saturday, the 28-year-old South African queen finally put an end to the rumours by confirming the lifetime relationship of husband/wife with
her longstanding friend, Roger Anderson, who was also her former coach as well. It was a special occasion for the South African lady who was ecstatic to enter the new phase of life.
Scheepers belongs from Harrismith, and Anderson is from Pietermaritzburg. The wedding ceremony took place in the private Lythwood Lodge in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. It was a barbeque night on Saturday whilst the gathering featuring
family, close friend and some tennis associates welcomed the couple to the new beginning of their life together. The bride wore an eye-startling dress that was designed by the famous Justin Alexander. The dress was layered ivory beads laced with Swarovski
crystals look fabulous on the South African star.
Talking to the local media reporters, the newlywed South African said, “We chose to come back to South Africa because our families are both here and we wanted as many friends and family to be able to share the day with us," Scheepers
said. "It's summer here, so it was a perfect day in the Midlands."
She further added, “I'll start the pre-season as soon as we get back from Napa. I'm playing Hopman Cup with Kevin Anderson and we're really excited to be representing South Africa there. It'll be a fun way to start the year. My
goal for the New Year is to keep working on my game and improve throughout the year. I just want to keep enjoying the sport."
The couple were together in South Africa for the past three weeks, preparing for their wedding. Now, they plan to travel to United States of America for the honeymoon until the start of the new season. It is good to know that the
world number 60, Scheepers, will continue playing tennis at the elite platform despite new responsibilities on her shoulder. She is a tough lady and can easily handle pressure of living a married life along with decent performances at the tennis courts.
Scheepers will like to improve the results in 2013. She only had four quarter-final appearances in the current season. The list of those battles is provided below:
