  1. lemon juice and sun or a hair dryer. it will go away as it grows out.

  2. I've not ever used Sun-In, but I've read that it's designed for blond hair, and may create an orange look to your brown locks. I myself have dark brown hair and used Vodka as my lightener. I'm not sure why it works but I've read about it on the internet.

What I did was put cinnamon powder in a bowl (how much depends on how long and thick your hair is) then I added some conditioner and vodka to make a paste. You don't need the cinnamon but apparently it's also a lightening agent, I only used it because I needed a powder like substance to make the paste. You could try using Henna powder which I've also read about being a lightener. I mixed it with a hair dye brush, but you could use a pasting brush, and the applied it all over my hair. I left it for about ten minutes, but you can leave it for longer, although keeping track of time is important and make sure you check it in the mirror to see how light it's becoming. While you're waiting put in a little bottle some shampoo (the normal amount you use for one wash) and a little more vodka. Shake it up.

When it's time to wash out the vodka/cinnamon mix, shampoo your hair a couple of times to get all the cinnamon out and then wash your hair with the vodka shampoo you prepared. Massage it into the hair and then let it sit for awhile. Wash out and condition.

That cinnamon is really messy so do this in the bathroom around the basin, also wash your hair in the laundry tub so you can see how your hair is reacting to the vodka mix.

It also helps if you have something else to enhance the colour. I use my sister's Igora Color Gloss in Iceflower shade afterwards.

It's made my hair alot lighter, although I'll need to do it couple more times to get the desired results of a really light brown.

To get some clearer highlights, squeeze lemon juice into your hair and go outside for awhile (at least 30 minutes) and when it dries apply more and stay outside again.

This helps a lot too. Hope I helped :)
