Change Of Shift to be dominant in the Netting Services Puppy Trophy
The most credible and accomplished entry for the Netting Services Puppy Trophy is the two-year-old brindle dog, Change Of Shift. Even though he is the most lightly raced and inexperienced hound on the line-up, it did not take him very long to prove himself
by the support of only two races that he has been a part of. The 450 metres flat race will be staged by Sunderland on Wednesday, 29th August.
Ready for the challenge in order to take home the £300 prize money are Ludworth Charl, Lookoutforflash, Change Of Shift, Elwick Roller, Mill Genovese and Sion Prince.
Droopys Kewell’s son has raced both his outings at Sheffield and that too over the same distance, 280 metres. The young one started racing without any training or drilling session.
He led soon after taking off from the fifth gate on 4th July, 2012 at Sheffield over 280 metres. The two-year-old bolted through the track distance in 16.15 seconds and kept the runner-up of the race, Southwind Sam, adrift by 3 ¾ lengths.
The next attempt of the P. Stoner trained came nearly at the gap of a week. He raced over the same distance and at the same race course on 11th July, 2012. Even this time the trap that he was allotted was the same as before, the fifth stall.
Leading first had him settling the race in 16.31 seconds. Even though the brindle dog out of, Gold Rumble, took slightly more time than in the career debut, the margin by which he won was remarkably massive. He defeated Southwind Sam by 5 ¼ lengths.
The two-year-old today will have to race at a different and a longer distance over which it will be his very first time. The connections however have laid out the plans well as Change Of Shift has been trained twice.
He got tuned over 480 metres at Sheffield on 8th August, 2012 and nailed it in 28.74 seconds. His next drilling session was at Sunderland over 450 metres which he concluded in 28.09 seconds on 25th August.
The lesser time that he took during the second training session was encouraging and if the 5 to 1 entry wins the race tonight then he will post a hat-trick out of the very first three races of the career.
