  1. Change in Cancun. I would change about 2 days worth and then again after 2 days. Its kinda like gambling , you never know but that at least spreads the risk of the falling dollar.

I know in Atlanta its near impossible to find a bank to change leftover pesos to dollars so plan accordingly.

You can go to Western Union and send it to yourself and then when you arrive you can get it at any western Union and it will be in pesos.

  2. Most places in Cancun accept USD however I've found that using the ATM gets you the best exchange rate. Yes, there will be a small fee that is charged but in the end you still save money. The rate that the taxi's or stores use when you pay with USD is $1 USD = 10 Pesos. If you exchange the money at your hotel, you get somewhere around $1 USD = 10.3 Peso...nothing great. When I went to the ATM and took out 3000 pesos it equated to $287 USD that includes all the fees that were charged.

  3. The unit of money in Mexico is  PESOS.  It is best to take your ATM card and use it to get pesos out as need...get the best exchange rate that way.

  4. What are Pacos? I have a friend who's name is Paco, lol. Sorry, couldn't help it. Come on!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! People never stops amazing me.
