Change for the sake of change will not help warns Misbah-ul-Haq – Cricket News Update
Pakistan skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, has urged the Men in Green not to make abrupt changes in their line-up after losing the T20I and One-Day International series to England.
The 37-year-old thinks that changes for the sake of changes will not do any good; rather it will halt their progress. Pakistan should access their talent pool before sacking players from the roster. If the selectors find the right blend of cricketers, they
should induct them into the team, else there is no need to take such steps, claims the captain of the Green Shirts.
He said, “I think we need to take this decision only after assessing our resources and if you have those resources then do that. But if you don't have quality cricketers then it will harm. If you change for the sake of change it will not help.”
Prior to the series against England, Pakistan cricket was moving in the right direction under the stewardship of Misbah, however, after a dismal performance in the ODI and T20I series, questions have been raised over the 37-year-old’s effectiveness as the
captain of the team.
Misbah states that certain people are just over reacting after the defeat and should calm down. He said, “All those who watch are sentimental and they talk like this. You analyse by sitting down and if you have a replacement for a player then you replace
him. Drastic changes will not help.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 won the Test series 3-0, but things changed after that and the fairytale turned into a nightmare for Pakistan, as they lost the ODI series 4-0 and the T20I series
2-1.
Pakistan - who were chasing a minute total of 130 - had a chance to finish off England in the third and final match of the T20I series. But they choked near the end and lost the match by five runs.
Misbah took the blame for the defeat but he also praised the English bowlers, who he thought bowled exceptionally well under pressure. He said, “I think we are responsible. We should have finished the match but we had no answer to their good bowling. Credit
must be given to them.”
