  1. "Will you please sweep the floor, Tom?"

  2. "do you mind" is not really making a request...it is asking the person if they object to what you are asking them to do.

A straight " Please would you....." is better. and ending the request with "Thank you " shows that you assume the person will comply.

( It is really a polite command)

  3. I'm guessing this is a grammar type thing, not a class on influencing others, right? In that case, chances are the teacher wants to know how you'd change the verb to make it a request. For example, to change your statement above to a request, using "do you mind", you'd say "Do you mind SWEEPING the floor, Tom?" The point would be that you changed sweep to sweeping to change it to a request.  Sweeping would no longer be the verb.

  4. Do u have any problem if.......??

  5. Do you mind sweeping the floor Tom? Well "do you mind" could always be answered with a yes and a no meanwhile the other way couldn't be answered with a yes and no

Example: Do you mind sweeping the floor Tom?

Yes,I'm not really in the mood to sweep the floor. Do it       yourself.

                 Sweep the floor, please Tom?

Wrong: No, I wouldn't want to sweep the floor

Correct: <No answer just start sweeping>

  6. Please Tom , Do You Mind Sweaping The Floor ?
