Hi,

I was known by my former name XXXX.S from birth(1979) till june 2003. I legally changed my name to YYYYY.S. FAMILY NAME in june 2003 through government gazette notification in India.

I got my passport in my adopted name in 2004 and had been working in India till february 2007. I came to Saudi Arabia last year on a resident work visa from my sponsor here.

All my educational records are in my former name and experience certificates from Indian employer is in my adopted name.

Now I wish to be known by my former name once again with the full name as XXXX.S.FAMILY NAME.

Is this legally possible? Also, I wish to know whther I need to change my name on my resident Visa or will I be holding a second passport with my new name and my visa on the old passport and that I shall carry two passports with different names.

Please advice. Thanks

  1. You can change your name to anything you want in Canada. I dont know about the rest of the world.

In canada,It costs about 200.00 to legally change your name,I would imagine it would be close to the same around north america, not including the change on your license, and other important documents. That could get pricey.

Do you not like your adopted name? Whats the problem?

  2. why don't you make up your mind, and see a psychiatric about your identity crisis, for a change???
