Change of address on driver's license?

Is it illegal to change the address on your driver's license to somewhere you don't actually live? This is a serious question, because we're renting a room in a house but don't intend to actually live there. Thank you for your help

  1. Your driver license should indicate your actual residence. That's why you can't use a post office address on drivers licenses.


  2. Not a good idea. Should something happen that you are to receive a letter, you would have no excuse in court to say it wasn't sent. Probably illegal also.
