Change ofStatus from H1 to H4?

Currently my friend is on H1 status, and due to some personal problems, would like change her status to H4. She got H1 in oct-2007 and didn't have any pay stubs. Can she apply for change of status. Is it going to be a problem. Also she had H4 document processed by her husband's company, valid till 2010. Can she use that or need to file again.

She can certainly apply. However, if they question her employment status while in the US on the H1b, she may have problems. She should be able to use the original H4 document.
