Question:

Change yahoo cricket??? What can we do to improve the yahoo cricket section?

I think yahoo cricket should have more categories in it.

Maybe each country could have a category and other major tournaments could have their own category such as the IPL (as lots of people like to ask repetative questions on the IPL).

I'm sick of seeing stupid answer and abuse on yahoo cricket... it's really annoying when good questions are asked and a few people come and ruin it by having their own conversation (calling each other names and accusing each other of things).

How could we improve yahoo cricket? What are your ideas to improve yahoo cricket?

  1. many related qs should be post1

    Never qs are posted frequently but once in a while!

    Ever people are fighting each other in terms of race,and other!

    If a separatesection was given no qs can be found even once in a while!

    I  am frustrated whenever i come in i could see only the same qs which are answered noone is posting qs frequently everyone love to answer & gain pts including me!

    may be we can stop qs that hurt others !If it violated 50pts from them will be given to bin!

    NO other way!

    Yes people like u can create awareness every day to make them live!

  2. As the People's Champ of the Yahoo cricket section i would change a few things to make the section a better place.

    * Get rid of the thumbs down option!! so many good answers get thumbs down??? Silly trolls thumbs down great answers either because they are jealous or because there idiots.

    * Ask a variety of questions, 30 IPL questions a day isnt good for the section, i wouldnt mind 10 IPL questions a day, but most days the same kind of IPL questions are getting asked (like who do you support)

    * Get smart users to ask more questions, we have some great answerers in this section, but the same great answerers arent asking questions (especially since Montitude stopped asking Q's) Oh yeah well done to you!! you have asked some good Q's recently (a compliment should get me the BA right haha)

    Oh yeah if you had been here longer you would understand why all the name calling goes on!! A lot of personal stuff has been said (by both sides) my advice to everybody is to ignore it!

    If all this happens the section would be much better.

    Oh yeah whoever keeps reporting the Who Am I questions!! Get a life!!

  3. No I don't as it opens up the argument that all forms of cricket, sport etc should have its own forum. We could have a forum for 1 day matches, test matches, IPL, county cricket, sheffield shield matches etc etc etc. The other people would want separate forums or different of their games likes rugby 7,state of origin etc etc. The 2O-2O format is great and exciting and will no doubt generate much discussion here but it should remain under the cricket category. Besides Yahoo! is US based so the possibilitiy of such a thing happening is remote.

  4. Yeah, we should have an IPL sub section - too many are asked in the section - most are 'where can i watch ipl online'. I say look at the 1 million other questions - someone will get a good answer, so use the search bar at the top of the page.

  5. Lets start "CLEANING" yahoo cricket section

  6. no its not necessary just other users have to show a bit more restraint

  7. Yeah you do bring up a good point,in the motor sports section there are sections just for Nascars,Indy cars,Formula 1 racing,so yeah i can see why you say this..

    1 section for Test matches,1 for One Day matches and 1 for T20 matches,and then just have general cricket .

    Yeah stupid questions and answers do take the p**s out of things,but just ignore them and keep doing your thing...

    Good question...

  8. None of the sports have such categories, why Cricket ??

    The tennis section doesn't have seperate categories for all the four grandslams ( Aussie open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US open ).....

  9. Mel, theres not much i can tell you, cos i think you hit the nail square on top of the head! each country should have there own section, certain tournaments suchs as the World Cup and IPL should have subsections to stop the "who is best in IPL" questions being asked every 10 seconds!

    the only other thing i cant think of is grab a bunch of us (such as yourself, Kookee, Binga, Ange, myself, Montitude any other good users on here) and form our own group or section or something so that we could personally monitor questions and stop the repeatitive asking on the best IPL or for live website links

    the only thing that would worry me with having national sections on here is that we would run the risk of losing the international flavour of the area, i mean if we didnt have Kookee in here, then i would have a Pom to stir up! lol. some indians on here will also try to claim this is being racist or something like that, but that is not the case, as i have found there are actually some very good indian users on here, its just unfortunate that they are out numbered by ones asking repeat questions on best in IPL, Dravid and MS Dhoni!!

    at least if we had our own area (we have to set it up with a points system like here as well) we could manage and rid ourselves of the abuse that goes on in here, i fully understand and accept deference of opinion and i am perfectly fine knowing i wont agree with everyone and everyone wont agree with me, but there is no need for the abuse that goes on here (tho i must admit Ange and I were guilty of talking about running over Oz! but i think thats an extreme case regarding him! LOL)

    aside from setting up and monitoring our own site or group or section, i think Mel, you've basically suggested all we can do on here

  10. Yes Mel i think it is a good idea to beak the cricket section down in catigories..

    Seperate one's for Tests,Odi's and 1 for the 20/20 fans,including IPL...

    A lot of sports sections in here have been broken down so if there is a call for it i dont see why they (yahoo) cant set it up..

    ``````````````````````````````````````...
    But Slash your idea of setting up another place all together has been done..
    One very well respected and liked user in here set up his own site for us to go to ,but you know what mate,you can only keep a place a secret for so long,after all his hard work setting up this place the TROLLs still got in there...
    So you can bet your butt that opening up somewhere else but all it takes is 1 troll to leak out this places name and all that hard work has gonne down the drain,and it did too....
    I think it would be great if yahoo did open up different section with in cricket....
    Yes you wont be able to get away from trolls but atleast you can look at questions you want to...
    EDIT::Slash this site was fully governed with site admin and also 2 moderators,but as with big mouths it all got out-unfortuanatly the good ones in there got sucked in by the troll'S and it ended very ubruptly..But also the info was leaked into here so really everyone in that site was from here,you think you know people and can trust them,then whammo you get kicked in the teeth...
    It really is'nt worth the time and effort when everything can be stuffed up with in a single click of a button...
  11. No, of course not Ashish Bhatia, (aka justin timberlake) you NEVER initiate anything do you? Look at all those thumbs down, why oh why is it so??
    Why don't you explain to everyone why you sent me an email telling me in great detail how you were going to rape my mother and sisters? Poor old you, all these Aussies are picking on you, yet you've never done anything wrong.
    You NEVER lie, you NEVER post outrageous accusations, you NEVER send disgusting emails to others (women included), you NEVER start anything, do you??
    What a crock of s**t from you, Ashish Bhatia - you couldn't lie straight in bed you spineless prick.
  12. Yes I would love just a section just for Twenty20 cricket. The other two formats are pathetic!
    How do we go about this?
  13. Suggestions are good, but the fact remains that YA is a public forum, and the only person and reactions we can change is our own!
    No matter how many sub-categories u create in cricket, the trolls and dimwits will still try to ruin the fun. So it's just better to hold on to ur own, engage with the users who u think r worth it, and ignore the rest.
    And i do not understand why some people r so emo about getting thumbs-down. Come on guys, why do u care? U stated ur point (and that's what YA is meant for), and EVEN if u get a thumbs-down, ur answer can still be read. More people, more opinions. I can understand if ur question or answer is unfailry reported for violation, but please.....getting a thumbs-down/up is no big deal.
    Do what u gotta do, and move on !
  14. No, I think it's OK apart from the trolls. But I would LOVE to be hired to go through & correct spelling & grammatical errors! lol, just looking down this page turns up quite a few!
