In response to dbHARMesq - The one we have now is brass which matched the door but with the pewter handle now the brass looks bad. Do you have other suggestions? I honestly don't much about it. Thank you!

  1. I recently installed a new threshold and did not see any pewter finished ones.  You might consider buying a wood threshold and painting it the color of your door moldings or walls.  If you do decide to do the wood be sure that you seal or protect it with some thing like polyurethane, because of the traffic, and be sure to use several coats over the paint.

  2. I've never heard of anyone using pewter to make a threshold.  I woul think that pewter would be susceptible to cracking and breaking often in such service, plus, possiblby be a slipping hazard to people stepping on them.

  3. You can probably special order them at Lowe's or Menards or contact your local lumber yard. I would think they are available-just as a special order
