Question:

Changed formula and now p**p consistency changed?

I've been trying different formulas to see what my son likes best (Doctor said it was fine) and on Enfamil and Similac his p**p was yellow, seedy and runny, now on Good Start Supreme it's thick, brownish/green.

He also still gets breast milk in a bottle and nurses during the night. (for some reason he doesn't like nursing during the day.)

Anyone have any idea as to why the consistency of his bowls changed?

  1. They are changing because of you keeping his formula changing. And then you are also giving him breast milk on top of it. Choose only one and stick to it, one that doesn't give him funny poops.

  2. Mine will only nurse at night as well. Too dozy to refuse and complain I think :)

On similac he has thick sticky p**p. The more he nurses the more he has the runny seedy p**p.

That's just the way things are I guess.

  3. Why did the consistency of his poops change?? Because you switched the formula......

  4. possibly the iron content in the formula may be different?  My son is on formula and he generally has a greeny/brown coloured p**p.  Generally breastfed babies have the yellow seedy runny p**p, formula babies are slightly different - it could also be his stomach reacting or getting used to the new formula - i had to try 3 before I got the right one - my dr suggested keeping him on each one for at least 2 weeks to get him used to it before changing if there was a problem (found he got constipated on the gold formula's so had to switch to a regular one!) good luck anyway, doesn'tt sound like anything to worry about

  5. The consistency of his bowl will have changed because you are changing his 'diet'. Each formula is different, so each reaction to the formula is different.

Edit: If he likes that one and does better on that one, stick to that one :) Lol, there are a lot of "one"s in that sentence.
