Changed heating element, but still no heat in dryer?

I have a Whirlpool dryer and just put in a new heating element, but I still am not getting any heat in the dryer. The dryer appears to be working well and blows air, but just won't heat up. Any ideas?

  1. There is a thermal disc that is open.It feeds one side of the element.

The door switch is also in the heater circuit.

Check them both but the problem is most likely the former.

    Good luck.

  2. Agree with above. Also:

    1. Un plug

    2. Open the back panel

    3. Look for a white object withtwo wires. It is the diameter of a pencil and about 1" long.

Connect the two wiers together bypassing the white thermocouple/fuse.

    4. Plug in.

    5. Turn on.

If the dryer heats then you know that fuse/thermocouple is shot.

    UNPLUG,

    get a new part

reinstal. DO NOT run the dryer witht he fuse/thermocouple removed except for testing.

    Regards.

  3. you should have a wiring diagram somewhere on the dryer. sometimes its inside that top mounting where the control k***s are located. Anyway,,,theres a thermostat and a timer and either one could be bad.

If its an old dryer you are better off getting a new one,,,,,rather than spending money for new parts on an old machine. It already sound like you replaced a good element for anther good element.  It gets expensive,,,and you still wind up with an old machine.
