Changing Default Browser Problem?

Question

Whenever Messenger opens up a web browser and goes to my email it uses Internet Explorer. I want it to use Firefox. I went to Tools, Options in Firefox and found out it was already the default browser. Why is it still opening up IE? I want Firefox!

My guess is that there is a different version of Messenger for Firefox. I would uninstall messenger and then download and install using Firefox.
