Changing I-20's?

i dont think you understand what I just said

I got my visa for my I-20 that says school starts on 20th aug, however, i cant be there so i'll apply for 20 october. now, can I still use the one year visa that came with my first i-20 ? and do I have to register somewhere USCIS or something ? do i have to pay sevises again ?

You should check with the US Consulate that issued you the original visa, but since the original I-20 is associated with the visa that was issued and you will get a new I-20 form with a new number, this could create problems for you as you enter the US. They do check your I-20 and stamp it when you cross the border. But as I mentioned before, check with your Consulate. As far as SEVIS is concerned, you may also have to pay this again since the SEVIS is also tied into your I-20 form.
