Question:

Changing My Bedroom Design?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

I want to design my room with a 60's theme.

If you watch Big Brother, I want it to look similar to the hippie room.

Anyway, where can I buy some fuzzy pillows and pillows with peace signs on them? Where can I buy a super big beanbag chair?

Any tips on designing my room? Pictures? Stores?

Also I am 14 and have a rather large room.

Thanks :-)

  1. If you aren't going to haunt the web, I have seen stuff like that at Kmart, Walmart and Target. You can also check out Biglots and other overstock type stores. Those kinds of things are very popular with Dorm room designers, so this is the time of year to look for that stuff. You also might try Sears, because they try for the kind of look. Burlington coat factory is another place that sell that stuff. For different colors and such try Bed Bath and Beyond, they have weird stuff this time of year. If your a little crafty you can get standard lamp shades and such, then go to a craft store like Joanns or Michaels and pick up some fun trims like fur and suede fringe and hot glue it to your shade. Should take 5 minutes. Longer if your not used to a glue gun.

  2. target has some cute hippie stuff or better yet go to a antique store. i have found lots of things there that brought back memories. or hit up your grandparents house, you know grandparents save everything. good luck

  3. I would suggest more eclectic retro gypsies mix than shown on the show.

    Perhaps bohemian.

I am from the sixties and my room was hippie in my early teens..

not so much flower power or even peace signs....even tho it was a social statement of the era...

We had beer/pop-tab curtains we collected and dressed our windows with.

Wild pops of color, jewel tones and luxury fabrics found at thrift stores and made pillows and bed covers(bedspreads from.

Crushed velvet, sheer fabrics around our bed, tons of pillows for the floor bed and big over stuffed chairs.

    psychedelic style of the sixties..

lava lamps purple walls with black leather (faux) and lots of psychedelic arts

  4. hot topic and spencers

  5. Target has a few things. Also Urban Outfitters has lots of cute chairs, pillows, rugs, and tons of other things like that style for rooms. Spencers also has some cute things for rooms. If you have a pier one or a hobby lobby (or most craft stores) they have lots of awesome pillows, lamps, and other accessories for the style you are going for. I just purchased a "hippie" looking lamp and 3 pillows for my room from Hobby Lobby the other day.
