Changing Soundpost for Violin?

My violin teacher told me to rehair my bow, change my strings, change my bridge, and change my sound post. How would a professional change it without breaking the violin?

  1. Take your violin and bow to a qualified repair person and let them do all of those things.

    Changing the strings and bridge is simple, changing or resetting the soundpost is done with a special tool that is inserted into the F-hole on the treble side of the fiddle.  


  2. You should have all of that done by a luthier.  For setting a soundpost, they have a little tool called a soundpost setter.  See:
