Changing a Remington 770 barrel?

Question

Without getting into how a Remington 700 is better than a 770 (I know) or how I should've bought a 700 or save up for one, I just want to know is it possible (with a good gunsmith) to buy a 700 barrel and put it on a Remington 770?

A good gunsmith can put just about any barrel you want on your 770. However, you will soon discover that this kind of custom work is very expensive and may be more than the cost of a new rifle.

Maybe you could sell or trade that one for a better rifle you like better?

the barrel is gonna cost you 3/4 of what the gun costs anyway

You can't change just the barrel. You would have to change the whole action, which is the "gun".
