They say it's bad luck to change a boats name. But what if the name really sucks or just has no meaning to you?

    You may rename a boat immediately after you bring it home.

    I say just change it.

    remember that everything is bad luck on a boat, and this is because they are dangerous and scary.

    spend some time upgrading your safety supplies and plans when you change the name and you will be way better off.

I am in the Process of repainting our Boat I must remove the name in order to do this, the name on the boat are Sticker letter,s only, we have never called her by this name so we figure sense we are the new owner,s and their will be no sign,s of this name then we are free to give her a new name.

    I see no reason for the God,s to disapprove.

    To change the name, a couple of things need to be done to appease the Seven Mad gods of the Sea.

    First off, if the boat has changed hands as part of the name change, you're in the clear. Just wear red socks when you re-christen the boat.

       If you're just changing the name, God help you. You'd better have a good reason.
