  1. Simple follow the advice you have been given, they are correct.

New Chain = New Sprockets as well.

Take it to a mechanic if you are unsure, you can be riding the bike in 2 hours and not working on it...trying to decide that you don't have the correct tools for the job.

  2. That's exactly what I would have said Crash.

  3. mags is right look at the sprocket teeth are they rounded? if so change them out. Other than that what is your question? E mail me at chopperchopster@yahoo.com

  4. easiest way to change just the chain is to break the old chain at the master link, hook the new chain to the end of the old one & just pull the new one through with the transmission in neutral.

I would only do this with a cheap chain to get through the rest of the summer because the others are right about the old sprockets usually causing rapid wear on the new chain.

to change the drive sprocket on the transmission you have to pull the clutch basket, primary chain & inner primary.

its a good idea to replace the bearing& seal while you have the inner primary off.

if you have the rear wheel off to change the sprocket be sure to check the wheel bearing end play with a dial indicator.it should be .004 to .018.

you really need to buy a manual before you start to do any work on this bike.
