Changing a lip piercing post?

hey guys.

i got my lip pierced almost two months ago, i have a post (stud) in it right now. i haven't gotten around to going to get it changed like my piercer recommended, and i've been trying for the longest time to get the top off myself, but it seems like it's on there really tight. i did the whole, gripping on the back of the post with my teeth, and all that. i have picture day tomorrow, and i wanted to change my post to a smaller one so it doesn't look huge in the picture like it usually does. don't suggest i got to my piercer please, because right now that's not an option. is there anything anyone suggest on how to s***w off the top?

thanks!

  1. Assuming you're twisting it in the correct direction (mine twists off to my right), you can try holding the back with your fingers instead of your teeth (rubber gloves would be good).  If that doesn't work, try twisting the ball off with pliers (very carefully).

  2. soak your piercing in some warm water and use latex gloves for extra grip.

you've likely got some dunk from while the piercing was healing stuck in the grooves of that s***w that is making it hard to get it unscrewed.

you can also try wrapping a pair of pliers with rubber bands or covering them with latex gloves to try and unscrew it. if you take the pliers route, make sure that you cover them with something so that you don't scratch your jewelry

  3. Okay this is going to sound odd but if you spray a little bit of Pam (non-stick spray) rub it all over the ball. Then get a pair of latex gloves that should do it. It worked for me.

    Good Luck Hun!

  4. I had the same problem, I had to go back up to the piercer.

But.. best thing you can try is to get rubber gloves and unscrew it with those on.

Good luck, it sucked trying to get mine unscrewed.
