  1. DO NEVER WLORK ON IT YOURSELF, get a company in that knows who to contact and what to do..

it is easy for Qualified Electricains, but that is why we are qualified, because we know what we are doing...

and spark that does tell you, isn't worth their salt!!

  2. you are not allowed by law to do this kind of work now, it has to be a certified electrician

  3. As taxed till I die says, leave it to the experts. The real problem here is that normally a fuse board in a domestic premises is connected directly to the supply company's electricity meter which is sealed.  No access is allowed  to unauthorised personnel in removing the cables from the meter to the fuse board. The electricity company would have to be informed in this case and they would or should carry out the necessary temporary disconnection. They would also probably wish to know who the electrical contractor was also.

This is all done on the grounds of safety.

    Malcolm, senior electrical installation instructor.

  4. The best tip i can give you is,Leave it to the experts.

  5. It is illegal to do so unless you are an electrician qualified to the IEE regs (16th Edn).  You have to break the seal on the unit to do it, so you must inform the electricity board, who will require evidence that the work has been performed by a qualified electrician.
