Changing at Victoria Station?

Has anyone changed from the District Line at Victoria to the Overground trains? I want to avoid a very intense change and wondering if this is a good option. Any help will be great. Thanks.

  1. The change from District to Overgound is very very simple at Victoria.  Off Platform and up steps, ticket barriers at top of stairs, turn right, down corridor and into Victoria Underground Foyer, up steps and you are at the front of Victoria Station, through arch and either go left for SouthEastern Services towards Kent (platforms 1 - 7), turn right for Southern Services (platforms 8 - 12 (metro) 15 - 19 (coast)) and Gatwick Express (platforms 13 and 14).

Total time approx 5 mins average depending on time of day to get from Platform onto Victoria Main concourse.

    Hope this helps

  2. It depends where you are heading. Some stations south of the Thames are served by suburban trains from Victoria, e.g. Clapham Junction.

It also depends when you travel. If you're travelling during the rush hour then trains, platforms etc. are going to be packed with people.

So travel off-peak if possible, then the railway will be less crowded.

  3. Not quite sure whatyou mean by a 'very intense change' The District line is a sub-surface line and the subway leads direct to the main Victoria Station concourse. You don't say where you are travelling from/to, so it is impossible to give any other oprions.
