  1. It won't be cheap, I'd skip out on it if I were you at least for now.

  2. It's not a "little switch", it will cost thousands and after wards you'll have a car that is work less than now (people don't want cars that have had major swaps like this done).

It would be more cost effective to trade it in for what you want, although on such a new car that will be expensive too. But at least that way you'll have a warranty, whereas you'll almost certainly void the warranty on anything relating to the powertrain if you swap the tranny on what you have.

My advice - live with what you have until you are ready to trade it in.

  3. You will need a manual transmission, flywheel, clutch,,throw out bearing, and pressure plate, foot pedals, floor shifter,linkages,......I would go to a junk yard for some, but I would get the transmission at an auto parts store with a warranty,as well as the clutch and pressure plate.,,if you plan to use a used flywheel,I would have it turned...you may even need your drive shaft changed,it just depends.

  4. Don't waste your money.  Just live with it or sell it and buy the manual.  You will spend several thousand on parts and labor.  Its going to be less reliable and worth nothing because its so heavily modified.

  5. just pretend you got a manual transmission ..go back to your dealer and make a deal on exchanging your car to manual ..its the cheapest way...you just got it didnt you?

  6. Around $2000-$5000 depending on where you get the trans from.

  7. Not little.  You'll need the complete transmission of course and probably the drive shaft, PCM and wiring harness, plus a new center console.  It would be cheaper to trade out of it.

  8. I don't necessarily agree on answers that it's not worth it.  It may not make sense if it's easy enough to trade a dealer for a manual.  I switched a 70 Nova from auto to 4-speed, but did a lot of other things to it too and it was worth it because I did it myself with some help.  It takes enginuity and the right parts but could be a pain on a new car.  I put in a super-T10 (Borg/Warner equivalent of the Muncie rock crusher) with a special low first gear ratio and then had a performance engine rebuild on a 350 cui.  It was all worth it after I did it - but that was a different time.  It only cost me the tranny, shifter and linkage.
