Question:

Changing channels is giving me a headache! Do all digital converter boxes do this?

I am not transitioning well to the digital conversion. I simply cannot handle the flipping and stuttering every time I change channels. First a black screen for 4 seconds, then the signal comes in and out, distorted and flipping up and down. Finally the picture comes in clear.

I know that this happens because the signal is being unscrambled, but I find it ridiculous! This whole thing negates the fun a channel surfing. Is this going to always be the way with digital?

  1. There is a delay with decoding the digital but it almost sounds like your signal strength is weak.  When you set up your converter did it show you the signal strength of the various channels?  Are all your channels doing this?  Try moving your antenna around a bit.  Stronger channels will normally decode faster.  The delay to decode the channel will slow down surfing a bit, but not like you describe.  It's less than 1 second for me.

  2. Hello,

You decoders were damaged, you need to download a new decoder.
