  1. Is both the dead bolt locked and the door k**b lock?

  2. yes you do..... the screws are on the inside.... if they were on the outside then it would defeat the purpose of a lock and anyone could get in with a screwdriver

  3. You do need to get in to change it.If you knew how to pick it it would be easy, but you don't have the tools and it takes years to master. Being you plan to change it any way , here is what to do to get in. Drill at the top of the key hole where the tumbulars are. this will get rid of the tunbulars that are keeping you from being able to turn the center cylinder due to the shear line. and unlock the door. Once there is no more shear line because the top tumbulars are gone, shove a scewdriver in the key hole and turn it like the key and the door will unlock. Now you can change the lock.
