I just bought a new battery for my laptop Dell Inspiron E1505 and after I inserted the battery the laptop only runes on ac power, so when I umplug it from the charger it turns off, and wont turn on again unless plugged to the charger. I really need to change that mode so that the laptop runs on batteries. Also, I left it charging the whole night and it wont get past 36% of charge.

2.Shut down the notebook PC,Connect the AC Adapter to the notebook PC and to an electrical socket.

3.Charge the Notebook PC until the Battery Charge light  is Green(Make sure the status now is Charging) Charge the battery to full.

4.Remove the AC power adapter from the notebook PC.

5.Allow the battery to discharge completely until the notebook PC turns off.

I tried it on my HP Notebook PC and it worked well.
