Changing jewellery, septum piercings, please help?

I got my septum pierced 6 weeks ago today

I got told the ideal jewellery changing time was 7-8 weeks

However i need to change the jewellery today for school tomorrow, as i need to flip it up and the jewellery i have in it is too large to fit up my nose

Is there a chance it could close up as i change it ?

Any tips on how to change it would be helpfull aswell

Thanks!

  1. I'd go to a piercer and have them fit you with a proper fitting septum retainer.  You can get them short enough that they don't even stick out of your nostrils.

  2. well on the first day of school they won't yell at you for having it out.

they'll just give you a warning and tell you not to wear it again.

but, it won't close if you work quickly while changing it.

a tip i would give you is to rub a really thin layer of vaseline (petroleum jelly) over the jewlry you are going to put in so that it goes in quick, easy and painless.

it also won't irritate the peircing if you do that

    good luck!

  3. it doesnt close up that quickly so you can take the ring out and put a new one in that can be hidden for school

    :)
