  1. I brought a copy of the marriage certificate, drivers license, and social security card  to Social Security department  and Division of Motor Vehicles  and they did it within a few minutes.

  2. Bring your marriage certificate to social security, DMV, passport place, etc. to show you are married.  They will issue you a new one, though in some states you may receive a change of information sticker to place on your license rather than getting a completely new one  :)

Also for changing your name on your credit cards, sometimes they want you to mail a copy of your marriage certificate to them  :)

  3. Go to your local driver's liscense center. Show them your marriage certificate, your old driver's liscense... and money!! they don't take checks btw..   and get your new driver's liscense...

then take it to the social security place and get a new card. they require a driver's liscense with a picture with your new married name... so you have to do the drivers liscense first.

    then you'll get it.. :)

  4. You need to get your social security card changed first by going to the social security administration office.  Most states will require that your social security card be updated before you can get a license.  I live in Texas and had to get my ss card updated first otherwise I would not have been able to get a new license.  As for the passport, wait until you have your new ss card and driver's license.

  5. Go online to the Social Security Administration. There's a section discussing changing your name.
