Question:

Changing liiter box for kitten question.?

I've been using a rather small litter box for my kitten, which I adopted last week as a stray. I have realized that I need a bigger litter box because today she has been stepping on her f***s and dragging her dirty paw all over the house. My old litterbox was simply just a normal uncovered litterbox, and I am thinking of buying an enclosed litter box to reduce mess. Do kittens or cats in general quickly pickup and accpet new litter boxes, or do you have to re-train them like when you first teach them to use a litterbox, like rubbing their paws in the litter? Also as recommended by many people I have been using unscented clay litter to train the kitten with. When can I make the transitition to scented clay with baking soda added?

  1. Changing a litter box is perfectly fine. I would suggest putting it in the place that your previous box was in AND placing your kitty in it too. That way she'll know that the new litter box is what she should use from now on.

    Good luck!

  2. Recipe

1 spice or German chocolate cake mix

    1 white cake mix

2 large pkg vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared (I like Bird's® dessert mix)

1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies

    green food coloring

    12 small Tootsie Rolls®

    1 new kitty litter pan

1 new plastic kitty litter pan liner

    1 new pooper scooper

  3. Changing to a bigger box should be fine, just don't change boxes and the type of litter at the same time or the kitten might get confused.

When you do want to change the litter brand, do so gradually, mix old type with the new at first. Usually on the bag of litter there are directions on changing brands.
