Changing my Fido phone account name?

My friend made an account for me at Fido because i'm younger than 18. When I turn 18, can I just call them and ask them to change the account name to my name? Or do they need authorization from my friend before they change it?

The reason I'm asking is because I don't know if me and my friend will be in contact in those years.

Yes, they definitely need to have your friend, the account holder's, authorization. He/she is responsible for the account, of course you cannot expect them to allow strangers call and take over without permission from the holder.

If you think you might not be in contact in a few years, have your friend call NOW and ask them to put in your name as authorised for a transfer of responsibility. There is no time limit on the authorisation.

Also, do you know what kind of plan you have? If it's an old plan that is no longer offered, you will have to choose from a new one.
