Changing my visa whilst in spain?

hey there

i am an australian currently in spain on a 3 month tourist visa. i now want to study here and need to change my visa. my embassy told me that it is difficult, but possible, to change my visa without returning to australia. does anyone know how?

You should check with their immigration offices.  I don't know what they're called, but I think the ministry of tourism, on Pza de la Santa Cruz, in Madrid, could be of help.
