Changing pics to jpg?

i have aol and windows. whenever i save a photo from the internet it only gives me 2 options of saving it in art or bitmap and it won't let me just type in jpg. i want to be able to take the pictures into paint or even microsoft word.

right click the file, choose "rename"

then erase the portion of the name that says ".bmp" and replace it with ".jpg"

Bitmap can be used in Paint/Word.

Here is the easy way to save photos as jpg/jpeg files. Right click on the photo click "save picture as" check the box at the bottom is set to jpg and "save" and the file is automatically saved as jpg.

You can open a bitmap file with paint.  After you open it and edit it, you can then save it as a "jpg" file from the drop down menu.
