Changing stiches on a Singer sewing machine 384?

Does anyone know how to change to the bottom type of stiches on the SInger 384?

I've not heard of a Singer 384, so can you tell me more about what you're trying to do?  Is the bobbin thread looping on top of the fabric?  Is the top thread looping on the bottom of the fabric?

Or are you having problems changing from one stitch type to another (straight stitch to zigzag, for instance)?

EDITED TO ADD: Is there a cam that has to be shifted, or a dial turned to a different colored dot?  At the moment, the best I can suggest is that you talk to Singer Customer Service:
