Changing the megapixels of my digital camera?

I bought a 7.1 megapixel Canon digital camera. How do I reduce the megapixels in order to be able to store more pictures? If I do this, will I ever be able to change it back?

you cant change the mega pixels because 7.1 mega pixel mean you have 7.1 million pixels on your camera the more pixels the bigger or better resolution the picture can get

It is certainly possible to change the number of pixels on your camera, but without knowing which model, I can't tell you how exactly.  Just look around in the menu on the camera, or in the guide that came with it, and YES, you will definitely be able to change it back.

Also, the ISO setting mentioned by someone else has nothing to do with the number of pixels, but how long the shutter stays open.

Most cameras allow you to select your image quality in an options menu.

It's not possible to change the number of megapixels, but it is possible to change the mode of which you are taking the photos. Try using Manual mode instead of Auto...and make sure the ISO level isn't too high.
