Question:

Changing the payment due date on my mortgage?

Will the bank do this? To better coordinate it with my monthly pay? I did call them yesterday and ask if this is possible, but the man I talked to wasn't sure and was going to look into it and get back to me. Do you think this will pose a problem? I've given them plenty notice and I just figured that more interest may be added on for this month by changing the date. Didn't think it was going to be such a big deal.

  1. They dont do it yet but i bet they will start soon.

  2. This is frustrating. When you first take out the mortgage many lenders will ask you what day of the month you want the payment to be but try to change it later and they act like you're trying to steal their first born child.

It can be done but don't expect any cooperation. An easier way is to get a payment ahead. That way, instead of always being 10 days late you'll always be 20 days early. Of course, that's easier said than done too if you're on a tight budget.

  3. You cannot do this with your mortgage.  It may be possible with car payment or other monthly payments, try there.

  4. It cant be changed.  It is part of the contract, signed and recorded.

Just keep the money in the bank until it is due.   Bills are not related to your payday, you can not set the due dates according to them.
